Fast Dog Fortune

This game would be less pointless and pre-packaged than ‘Cats’ and ‘Dogs’ and really go for the hand-held console market. It will be much more of a game than ‘oh-look-that’s-cute’. In this tamagotchi-style game, you own a kennel and raise dogs, then race them in competitions against computer generated canines or even against your friend’s mutts in link up mode.
Your kennels start off as basic huts, but as you progress and win money from competitions you can look after more dogs and keep them in more luxurious surroundings. You look after the dogs by feeding them regularly, exercising them and petting them so that they feel loved. It is also important to make sure that they don’t get bored and there are a series of mini-games that you can play to keep them mentally-stimulated. The number of these ‘games’ increases as you buy better facilities; These ‘games’ also prepare them for the races that you can enter them into.
The races themselves have different rules and classifications for the dogs. Some require you to bet a set amount of money according to the level of the race. If your dog wins the race, you win the other competitor’s money. You lose the race, you lose your money. Other races have odds, allowing you to bet on whichever dog you want. In addition to this, if your dog wins, you collect prize money. Other competitions include barking (a bit like a golf game), tail wagging contests (button bashing), and beauty contests (depending on how well you look after your dog.) I suppose it wouldn’t be the same without a dog fighting section, but maybe they could just fight over a Frisbee or something (button bashing.) You can also breed your dogs, and either keep them or sell the puppies to your friends via link up. Each dog has an electronic equivalent of DNA, obviously a lot less complex but it would include the obvious information on the dog’s speed, intelligence, tail wagging ability and so on.
The game will make the dogs really demanding, just so it keeps you occupied. It will also include plenty of hidden extras as an incentive to play, such as extra mini-games, new facilities and secret competitions. In addition to this, the dog breeding aspect will be really open ended so that there are literally millions of different breeds that can be created. Maybe people could create a dog that is so special and unique that they could even start selling it for real money. Parents will love that. (Laughs evilly)
